Regional sales tax.
A regional sales tax called VAT may apply if you are inside the European
Union. Prices quoted exclude VAT sales tax if this applies. VAT sales tax does not apply in North America - it only applies inside the European Union and even here it can be avoided outside the UK by supplying your company VAT number.
Payments are handled by Image Intelligence Ltd, whose VAT number is GB 489 1699 75.
How much do upgrades cost?
Currently they cost nothing. You just come along to our site, read the news
to see if there are new versions, and download. Currently registration keys
are forwards-compatible to new versions. If you have an active account (used
for storing your menu configurations), then you will be informed by email if
there are upgrades.
I bought the whole lot - what if you release new menu types or new themes?
We continue to release many more new menu types and themes to add to the collection here.
Currently the registration keys for menu collections are forwards-compatible to
new menus which are added to the collection. So you just download the new menus
and use them straight away. We recommend you subscribe to the
newsletter to remain informed about new releases.
Can I try the menus before I buy them?
The standard versions can be freely downloaded for evaluation on your local file system.
If you wish to see them running online with different configurations, then experiment
with the menumaker. This runs the actual menus online (on this site) with your chosen
appearance and content. You can see immediately how the menus automatically adjust.
Find the menu you like best, then
configure it using the
menu maker option and click the "download code" button to download the exact personalised
files you need.
What differences are there between evaluation and release versions?
None. (Because they aren't different versions).
What kind of licence do I need for a CD-ROM?
A "universal" licence.
I develop my projects on my local file system - must I licence my own computer separately?
No. All licences entitle you to use the software
for development purposes on the local file system of one computer (your own).
I want to get the cheapest licence type, but I don't know what my "codebase" is.
To find out the codebase, download the applet you want to use from our site and upload
it to yours. It won't work, but if you right-click on the applet, a pop-up display
will appear with lots of information. In the middle of this it tells you what the
codebase is.
If you have a "universal" licence, you also need to know the codebases. Again, upload
and right click is the best method to find out the codebase.
My hosting company changed my codebase.
If you opted for the cheapest licence type with only one codebase allowed, be careful
of your hosting company. Cheap or free hosting companies make a habit of changing
codebases without telling you. We recommend a "universal" licence unless you are
sure that your codebase is stable.
What happens if I move to a different hosting company?
Typically if you move your site to a different hosting company, the URL
remains the same. This usually means the codebase and domain remain the
same as well. So don't worry.
What happens if I change my site name (domain, URL, address)?
If you plan on changing your site address, we recommend a "universal" licence.
Can I have the source?
Source code is not included in any standard licence types. If you want
to change or add standard features, we can customise these for you, or
you can find many more advanced and flexible menus here.
Which credit (debit/charge) cards do you accept?
American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, JCB.
I'm afraid of sending a credit card number over the net - what can I do?
Fax and phone are quick as well as safe.
Fax (+44) 1600-890281 (or USA/Canada: 815-425-8545). You
can fax at any time of day.
Phone (+44) 1600-890283 (card details only; no advice).
You can phone your order between about 08:00 and 20:00 GMT seven
days a week. Please observe time
zones if phoning from outside Europe.
How do I know how much the prices are in my local currency?
You can use this free
independent currency converter.
Which currency can I pay in?
Depending where you are in the world, three currencies may display on our prices
forms: pounds sterling (UK currency), euros, or US dollars. US dollar payment is
only available to US residents with a US billing and delivery address. While offering
multi-currency payment offers high convenience to customers (for example, euro pricing
gives European customers a much better feel for the price), the constant variation of the
relative value of currencies means that differences may arise between the prices offered
in each currency - we would kindly request customers not to exploit this (for example,
switching currencies after you have ordered in order to save a few percent actually
causes more expense and trouble than it is worth). Please respect that we offer the
various currencies for the greater convenience of the vast majority of our customers
and that manipulating the system would result in all currencies except one being dropped
to the loss of the majority of our customers.
Can I pay by purchase order?
Only if you pre-pay. In the software industry, pre-payment with purchase
orders is becoming increasingly common. A minimum purchase volume may
apply, as we need to cover our administrative costs.
Can I pay by cheque / electronic transfer?
Yes, but on small orders you will have to pay the UK banking charges as well - please ask us
for the current surcharge.
I'm a UK company and I'd like to get my VAT back - how do I do it?
We will endeavour to supply you with a VAT receipt. Please ensure that
you have given your correct contact details.
I'm a European company - can I avoid VAT?
Yes. Agreements exist between the EU countries for VAT-free
sales between EU companies, provided that the purchaser sends the
supplier their "VAT number". Send us your VAT number by email
before purchasing. We will then tell you how to ensure
that the order form does not add VAT.
What is VAT?
VAT is a European Union sales tax applying only to people
paying from within the European Union. It must be paid at the
rate of the supplier's country (UK = 17.5%), not the
purchaser's country. In some other European countries, VAT
is also known as TVA, IVA, USt (Umsatzsteuer),
BTW (Belsting over de Toegevoegde Waarde), ALV (Arvonlisavero),
FPA (Arithmos Forologikou Mitroou), and MOMS (Mervardeskatt).
Can I have a receipt?
Receipts will only be sent by email, except within the UK, insofar as
current law does not recognize electronic receipts.
