My Happy Menus Account - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the account for?

Convenient storage and retrieval of configuration results while you try out or use our menu software. You can click the download link next to a stored item to download the necessary files in a ZIP file, or you can click the edit link to load the stored configuration back into the menumaker tool for further editing.

  2. Is the account free or do I pay for it?

You do not pay for the account. It is just a convenience for you when using our site. It allows saving and loading menu states in conjunction with use of the online menumaker tool.

  3. Am I licenced to use the files saved in the account?

Not necessarily. Just having an account does not provide you with any licence at all. A licence to use has to be obtained separately. Generally you are licenced to try out the menu software on your local file system for 30 days after downloading it. But you might also separately purchase a licence to deploy the software on a website or in a web application. It's a "try before you buy" arrangement.

  4. If I like what I configured, how do I buy a licence for it?

Click on the edit link to return to the page with the exact product and the menumaker tool. Then click the "buying options" link at the top of the page (right-hand side, above the menumaker). This will give you a list of buying options and hyperlinks to appropriate order forms.

  5. Do I have to buy every time I make a new configuration to download?

No. A typical licence will entitle you to use one or more of the menu types as many times as you like either on a specified website or on a range of sites. Even with a minimal licence, you can still come back here repeatedly and redesign the menu. If you want a new colour scheme each month, or if you experiment with 20 colour schemes while developing - it's all doable under the one licence.

  6. How many configurations can I save on my account?

    Initially one at a time.

If you licence some software from us, we will increase the limit to 10. That means you can keep up to ten different configurations stored.

  7. What happens if I reach the maximum number of saved configurations?

If you attempt to save another, the oldest saved file will be deleted to make space. In other words, you can keep on saving and downloading menus to try out. But at any one time, only the most recent will still be stored in the account. Hopefully you will download files before you overwrite the server copies.

  8. I gave you my email address. What will you do with it?

We will NOT give it to anyone else!

Initially we use the email address to send you your password. While you have the account with us, we may occasionally send you news about changes on the site. As we close unused accounts on a regular basis to tidy up the server, we will also send you email to warn you if your account is about to expire. We only keep you on the lists for these notifications while you actually have the account. You can, of course, delete the account at any time, which will immediately remove your email address from mailings.

  9. How do I change my email address?

Close the account and open a new one.

  10. Why can't I see my key generator here?

Storage accounts and key generator accounts are different things. Key generator accounts are for those customers who have purchased a universal licence, and the accounts are located elsewhere (see the special email sent to you). Storage accounts are available to anyone and help with saving, loading and downloading menu configurations when using the menumaker.
